Ernst and Young and Tax Institute of Australia Courses
For our successful Audit and Assurance candidates due to our strong affiliation with Ernst & Young (EY) we will send you on their induction and development program in Melbourne. Our affiliation will also give you access to future training development, technical advice, audit methodologies and opportunities to work on Ernst & Young clients based in Tasmania. Each year a representative of EY comes to Tasmania to run a financial reporting update for our clients and staff.
For our successful Business Services candidates we will enroll you in the Tax Institute of Australia’s (TIA) level 1 Foundation Tax module. This course is an introductory course and is held over a 16 week period. It is designed to develop your skills in the area of taxation, business structuring and compliance. Wise Lord and Ferguson pays for all costs associated with this course totalling $1,320 plus leave and travel.
Chartered Accountant program
The Chartered Accountant (CA) program is the formal postgraduate educational requirement for membership of the ICAA. On successfully completing the study and service requirements of the CA program you will become a Chartered Accountant – a highly regarded and recognised qualification in both Australia and overseas. The CA Program is renowned for its technical depth and rigour with a focus on developing the attributes that are required by future business leaders.

Wise Lord & Ferguson maintains a strong career focus and is committed to ensuring that staff are given every opportunity to improve as people and as professionals. We are supportive of all staff undertaking the CA Program and offer the following assistance:
Introduction to CA workshop – A meeting with our recently qualified CA’s who will introduce you to the CA Program and what you can expect from it.
Financial Assistance – We pay your enrolment fee when you first undertake each module and your initial application membership fee and annual subscription to ICAA upon successful completion of the CA Program.
Mentors and Resources – We have a number of recently qualified CA’s who are available to guide you through your studies through their experience and the firm’s access to print, reference and electronic and internet materials.
Mock Exams – In addition to study leave we provide paid leave time to sit mock exams for each ICAA module to gain feedback and strengthen exam techniques.
Study Leave – Wise Lord & Ferguson provide you with three days paid study leave per module. This is in addition to your annual leave entitlement.
In-house tutorials – Additional paid time to undertake in-house tutorials prior to your attendance at CA focus sessions.
